Local Model

The model is Gemini Nano, built into Chrome, and runs on this computer with no account or API key. The tab shows its status and whether toolbars use it.

• Prepare Model downloads the model when Chrome needs to and turns it on. Chrome reports overall progress, not file size or speed, so there is no time remaining. Cancel Download stops Bundleware's attempt; Chrome manages the files.
• Check Availability, Turn On and Turn Off change only whether toolbars may use the model.
• Used By lists what generates with it: ProSearcher's weather and horoscopes, Baghdad Translation's translations and Baghdad Daily, and Create with Gemini. Without the model, toolbars use classic routines: prewritten forecasts, horoscopes and translations.
• Model Details opens chrome://on-device-internals. A development build's profile may report the model unavailable; test with the production build in regular Chrome.
